I was thinking the other day about the whole 2012 thing, and I couldn’t help but wonder about all the years that I had let just waste away. I know that if the world ends then that I’m going to have many regrets in life. Such as doing all that homework middle school year. My god! I can’t believe all those hours that were dedicated to doing all that pointless busy work. The funniest thing is that I realized that it didn’t matter what grades you got. The teachers hated all their students so much that they would have passed you onto the next grade anyway. I know. I got mainly D’s and F’s seventh and eighth grade year, but I provoked the teachers so much that they just wanted to get rid of me. I enjoy high school and my grades are primarily A’s, B’s, and C’s. Just thinking about my pitiful attempts at the homework back then just seems like such a waste of time now. If the world ends in a few years then I wasted nearly two and a half years of just school dominated activities.
The thing I’m trying to get as is this simple question:

“If the world does end in 2012 and I was given the chance to change my past actions, what would I do?”

First off, I wouldn’t have bothered doing all that homework. That would be my biggest regret in life if fire suddenly began reigning down from the sky. What else would I do if I could change my life….
I would publish that book I’ve been making notes for the past few years. I would actually get to work on it from middle school and publish it later. This way I know for sure that I actually live my dream of becoming a writer. I would also have read more books. I didn’t do much reading during my younger years and I’m sure I missed out on many great books. I also would have made sure that I had gotten up to see the last episode of “Flint the Time Detective.” I still don’t know how that bloody show ends!
Lastly, I would have done more illegal but humorous antics before I turned eighteen. Now that I look back on those fun filled nights of breaking public property, stealing from poorly secured gas stations, beating up my little sister, and walking my pet alligator in Florida then tying it to a street sign so I could go into a bar and use the bathroom (it’s a state law. No kidding!), all those seem so elementary compared to what I could have done. So many illegal antics, so little time.
If I could go back in time and do all of this, I could really die happy.
